The Need-To-Know
🌧️ What if the weather’s bad?
Rain is fine, the boat is covered. But if conditions are unsafe or seriously unpleasant, we’ll cancel and offer a full refund or reschedule. The Captain makes the final call on weather.
📍Where do trips depart?
All trips leave from Sorrento Pier, VIC 3943 (Mornington Peninsula), right near the ferry terminal.
🛥️ Can you pick us up from Queenscliff?
For shared trips, no.
For private charters 6H+, Queenscliff pick-up is available for +$100. More Info
🧢 What should I bring?
Warm layers
Closed-in shoes
Hat and sunscreen
Drinks and snacks
A small esky if you have one
🥪 Can I bring food & drinks?
Yes, you should! Being on the water makes you hungry, so bring snacks and stay fuelled. We provide complimentary water. Drinks are welcome, cans only, no glass bottles.
🎣 Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes — a Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence is required for guests aged 18–69. You can purchase one online through Vic Fisheries. Please organise your licence before your trip.

🤮 What if I get seasick?
Don’t let seasickness ruin a good day on the water. Consider taking motion-sickness medication before the trip, as directed on the label, so you can focus on the fishing, not the waves.

🐟 Can we keep our catch?
Yes! That’s all part of the experience, bring home a fresh feed! We’ll clean your catch and fillet it if time allows. Bring a small esky to leave in the car and keep your catch fresh on the way home.
👥 How many people can come?
Our licence allows 18 people max, including crew. Shared charters are kept small at 12 guests max. Private charter capacity depends on group size and the crew required.
🚗 Parking?
Paid parking is available at Sorrento Pier (free during winter). There are also free parking options just up the hill near the Sorrento Pub, only a short walk away.
⌛️What if I'm late?
Please allow enough travel time, we can’t delay departure for late arrivals.
Private charters: If we have another trip after yours, arriving late may shorten your time on the water.

🧒🏼 Is there a discount for kids?
We keep our charters small, so all guests pay the same rate regardless of age.
Under 4s travel free on private charters. Just let us know in advance for safety reasons.
♿ Accessibility?
Guests with limited mobility and wheelchairs are welcome. Boarding assistance is available, but toilet access is tight (narrow door + small step).
🦑 What fish can we catch & when?
🐡 Will we always catch fish?
We know the spots, but the sea has its moods. That’s why it’s called fishing, not catching.
No guarantees, just our best shot every time.
🍣 Will we catch Southern Bluefin Tuna?
Southern Bluefin Tuna are wild and seasonal, so there are no guarantees. Our 8, 10-hour charters give you the best chance during the season, but ultimately, the fish decide.
🐬 Will we see dolphins or seals?
Often! Keep your camera handy, dolphins, seals, and seabirds love to make an appearance.
🐋 Do you offer whale watching?
Not officially, whale watching requires a special licence. But if one surprises us along the way, we’ll enjoy the moment respectfully from a safe distance.
