FAQ
📍 — Where do trips depart?
All trips leave from Sorrento Pier, VIC 3943 (Mornington Peninsula), right near the ferry terminal.
🚫 — What’s the cancellation policy?
Transparency matters to us. We believe every business should be upfront about its policies, which is why we've made ours clear, fair and easy to find before you book.

🚤 — Can you pick us up from Queenscliff?
For shared trips no.
For private charters (6 hrs+) yes, we can pick up from Queenscliff for a $100 fee.
🦑 — What fish can we catch?
🍣 — What are the chances of catching Bluefin tuna?
Southern Bluefin Tuna are a seasonal, wild pelagic species, so no two days are ever the same. During the season, our 8-hour charters are designed to give you the best possible chance, but as with all wild fishing, catches can never be guaranteed.
🛟 — What’s included?
• Quality rods, reels, bait & tackle
• Lifejackets provided
• Onboard toilet
• Complimentary drinking water
• Keep the fish you catch
• Fish cleaned, with filleting available when time permit
🧢 — What should I bring?
• Warm layers
• Closed-in shoes
• Hat and sunscreen
• Drinks and snacks
• A small esky if you have one
🐬 — Will we see dolphins or seals?
Often! Keep your camera handy, dolphins, seals, and seabirds love to make an appearance.
🚽 — Toilet on board?
Yep, we’ve got one.
🤮 — What if I get seasick?
Nothing ruins a good day on the water like seasickness.
Take a tablet the night before so you can focus on the fun, not the waves.
🎣 — Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes — a Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence is required if you're aged 18 to 69. It's quick to buy online through Vic Fisheries.
You're exempt if you're:
- under 18, or 70 or over
- a holder of a Victorian Seniors Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veterans' Affairs card
Holding a valid licence is your responsibility, please sort it before the trip.
🚗 — Parking?
Paid parking is available at Sorrento Pier (free during winter). There are also free parking options just up the hill near the Sorrento Hotel, only a short walk away.
♿ — Accessibility?
We welcome guests with limited mobility/wheelchairs. Boarding is assisted, but toilet access is tight (narrow door + small step). Contact us before booking so we can help plan.
🧒🏼 — Is there a discount for kids?
We choose to run small-group charters rather than crowded trips, so every spot on board is a paying spot, regardless of age.
Children under 4 travel free on private charters. Please let us know in advance, as they still count as passengers for safety reasons.
🐡 — Will we always catch fish?
We know the hotspots, but the sea has its moods. Sometimes it’s hot action, sometimes it’s a slow tease.
Either way, it’s fresh air, good views, and the thrill of the chase.
🐠 — What if we don't catch many fish?
That's why it's called fishing, not catching. Even the most experienced crew can't make fish bite, but we'll always do our best to put you on them.
🌞 — Is the sunset guaranteed on Sunset Cruises?
Nope, nature does what it wants. But you'll always get a stunning evening out on the bay!
🐋 — Do you offer whale watching?
Not officially (needs a special licence). But sometimes whales surprise us and if they do, we watch respectfully from safe distance.
⌛️ — What if I'm late because of traffic?
It is your responsibility to allow enough travel time. We cannot delay departure for late arrivals.
Private charters only: If another charter is scheduled after yours, any delay may reduce your time on the water, as we must return on time.
