Fishing Charter FAQ
📍 — Where do trips depart?
All trips leave from Sorrento Pier, VIC 3943 (Mornington Peninsula), right near the ferry terminal.
❌ — What’s the cancellation policy?
Cancellations within 7 days aren’t refundable.
If we need to cancel due to weather, you can reschedule or get a full refund.

🚤 — Can you pick us up from Queenscliff?
For shared trips no, only Sorrento.
For private charters (6 hrs+) yes, we can pick up from Queenscliff for a $100 fee. All the info here → Fishing from Queenscliff

🦑 — What fish can we catch?
🍣 — What are the chances of catching Bluefin tuna?
Tuna are highly seasonal and unpredictable.
Some days they’re everywhere — some days they’re gone.
• 6-hour Offshore trips: Best chance when they’re on.
• 8-hour Private charters: Tuna are our main target, but no guarantees if they’re not feeding.
🛟 — What’s included?
• Rods, reels, bait and tackle
• Onboard toilet
• Complimentary water
• Fish cleaned for sure, filleted if time allows
🐬 — Will we see dolphins or seals?
Often! Keep your camera handy, dolphins, seals, and seabirds love to make an appearance.
🚽 — Toilet on board?
Yep, we’ve got one.
🤮 — What if I get seasick?
Nothing ruins a good day on the water like seasickness.
Take a tablet the night before so you can focus on the fun, not the waves.
🎣 — Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes, if you’re 18–70 and not concession. Get one online in minutes via Vic Fisheries.
Under 18s, over 70s, and concession card holders are exempt.
🧢 — What should I bring?
• Hat & sunscreen
• Warm layers + windproof jacket
• Snacks & water
• Closed shoes
• If you can, bring along an esky for your catch. We’ll have bags on hand, but we’re cutting back where we can for the planet.
🚗 — Parking?
Yes, paid parking at the pier. Free options up the hill near the Sorrento Pub (short walk).

♿ — Accessibility?
Yes, we welcome guests with limited mobility/wheelchairs. Boarding is assisted, but toilet access is tight (narrow door + small step).
Contact us before booking so we can help plan.
🐕 — Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no. Boats aren’t safe / comfortable for dogs + limited space, slippery decks, and engine noise.
🐡 — Will we always catch fish?
We know the hotspots, but the sea has its moods. Sometimes it’s hot action, sometimes it’s a slow tease.
Either way, it’s fresh air, good views, and the thrill of the chase.
⏰ — How long does it take to reach the Bass Strait (Deep Sea)?
Deep Sea means we go properly offshore, allow about 1h cruising time to reach the grounds, then it's lines down.
🌞 — Is the sunset guaranteed on Sunset Cruises?
Nope, nature does what it wants. But you'll always get a stunning evening out on the bay!
🐋 — Do you offer whale watching?
Not officially (needs a special licence). But sometimes whales surprise us and if they do, we watch respectfully from safe distance.
